Hosts roundtables on protecting Virginians, engages with community, and discusses rural healthcare access
RICHMOND, Va. – Attorney General Jones made stops across the Commonwealth, listening to communities about public health and safety challenges, fostering collaboration between partners, and sharing how his office is fighting to better the Commonwealth for all.
Attorney General Jones Visits Henrico, Petersburg, Chesterfield, and Richmond
On Tuesday, August 4, Attorney General Jones made several stops in the Greater Richmond area. These stops highlighted how local communities are combating crime and investing in lasting public safety strategies, and how partnerships with the state can further support their work.
Vape Enforcement Roundtable in Eastern Henrico
Following the announcement of the Office of the Attorney General’s Regulated Products Enforcement Unit, Attorney General Jones gathered with state and local officials, community advocates, school division leaders, and public health experts for a direct conversation in Eastern Henrico. Dialogue touched on emerging substances in communities, parents and teachers speaking about these products with children, and how the Office can connect and collaborate with stakeholders.

WVTF: AG Jones visits Henrico as vape listening tour continues

Attorney General Jay Jones recently announced a new Regulated Products Enforcement Unit to help combat illegal vape sales in Virginia. And this week, he stopped in Henrico County to hear what more his office and elected officials could do to address youth vaping.
The roundtable at the Varina Area Library included Henrico police, educators, prosecutors and elected officials. As a Senator and high school civics teacher, Schuyler VanValkenburg fit into two of those categories.
REAL LIFE Door-to-Door Community Outreach in Petersburg
Attorney General Jones joined REAL LIFE staff and volunteers for a peace walk and door-to-door community outreach event in Petersburg’s East End. Participants spoke directly with residents, shared information and resources, and discussed community safety. REAL LIFE works to reduce violence by engaging individuals at the highest risk of becoming involved in violence and connecting them with intensive life coaching, wraparound services, employment and education support, recovery housing, and other resources.

National Night Out Events
Attorney General Jay Jones attended National Night Out events in Petersburg, Chesterfield, and Richmond. He met with residents, local law enforcement officials, and community partners at events focused on strengthening relationships, promoting crime prevention, and building safer communities. Held nationwide on the first Tuesday in August, National Night Out brings neighbors and law enforcement together through community events designed to foster trust, partnership, and public safety.

Attorney General Jones Visits Charlottesville and Rockingham
On Wednesday, August 4, Attorney General Jones made several stops in Charlottesville and Rockingham. These stops highlighted the scope of the OAG’s consumer protection enforcement as online scams rise, community engagement, and discussed rural healthcare access in the Commonwealth.
Consumer Protection Roundtable in Charlottesville
Attorney General Jones hosted a robust roundtable discussion on financial scams, online safety, and fraud prevention with law enforcement and community advocates. According to a report from the Consumer Federation of America, Virginians lost over $3.3 billion to online scams and crimes in 2025. Dialogue covered common challenges for law enforcement in addressing cryptocurrency scams, enforcement of Virginia consumer protection laws, and strengthening partnership opportunities.

Visits Sentara Rockingham Memorial Hospital Medical Center in Rockingham
Attorney General Jones met with area health experts at Sentara Rockingham Memorial Hospital Medical Center in Rockingham to highlight rural healthcare access. Attendees engaged in an open dialogue about the barriers to healthcare access in rural communities and collaboration opportunities to connect Virginians to the care they need.
