Attorney General Jones and a coalition of 21 attorneys general announced a U.S. District Court judge granted a temporary restraining order that blocks the Trump administration from demanding the production of a database of state-owned records containing the sensitive personal information of 17 million drivers and from terminating more than $10 million in federal funding to the American Association of Motor Vehicle Administrators (AAMVA) if it refuses to produce the database.

Today, a Lancaster County Court judge joined three other state courts and the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia in granting a stay in John Crump, et al. v. Jeffrey S. Katz, a challenge to Virginia’s assault weapons ban and large capacity magazine restrictions.

Ahead of opening statements, Attorney General Jones today issued the following statement as a bipartisan coalition of attorneys general began presenting their case against Meta, alleging the social media giant knowingly designed and deployed harmful features on Facebook and Instagram that drive compulsive use of the platforms by children and teens, while falsely assuring parents and the public that its platforms were safe for young users.
