October 22 - Drug Takeback Day Events to Be Held Across Richmond Area

Attorney General Mark R. Herring is encouraging Virginians to take advantage of Saturday's National Prescription Drug Take Back Day to dispose of unused or expired medications, especially prescription opioids, before they can be misused, abused, or accidentally ingested. 

 

October 22 - Herring Defeats Trump’s Rollback of Contraception Coverage

Attorney General Mark R. Herring and a coalition of 14 attorneys general have defeated the Trump Administration’s second attempt to strip access to cost-free birth control coverage protected under the Affordable Care Act (ACA).

 

October 25 - Herring Investigating Facebook for Potential Antitrust Violations

As part of his ongoing commitment to the enforcement of antitrust protections, Attorney General Mark R. Herring today announced that he has joined a bipartisan coalition of 47 attorneys general in investigating Facebook’s business practices to examine compliance with state and federal antitrust laws.

 

October 18 - Herring Opposes Rule Changes That Would Harm Fair Housing

Attorney General Mark R. Herring today joined a coalition of 22 attorneys general in opposing the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s (HUD) proposed changes to its Disparate Impact Rule.

 

October 17 - Herring Calls on Secretary DeVos to Extend Timeframe for Loan Forgiveness for Students Enrolled in Closed Schools Operated by Dream Center Education Holdings

Attorney General Mark R. Herring today has joined a bipartisan coalition of 30 state attorneys general in calling on U.S. Education Secretary Betsy DeVos to extend the timeframe for student loan forgiveness for students enrolled in schools that were operated by Dream Center Education Holdings (DCEH) that are now closed.

 

October 16 - AG Herring Statement on Supreme Court Oral Argument in D.C. Sniper Case

Attorney General Mark R. Herring released the following statement on today's oral argument in the U.S. Supreme Court on efforts by Lee Boyd Malvo to receive a lighter sentence for his murder convictions in Virginia.
