EXECUTIVE AND ADMINISTRATION DIVISION
DUTIES: The major responsibility of the CBCR Coordinator is to utilize his/her public relations skills to promote awareness, working directly with members of the community to educate people and explain the importance of Community Based Crime Reduction to the residents of Gilpin.
This objective is accomplished primarily by collaborating with civic organizations, including senior groups, departments of social services, law enforcement, hospitals, training academies and others. Successful candidate will also participate and exhibit at community events.
The secondary objective will be the coordination of educational, intervention/prevention, reentry, and employment opportunities.
The coordinator will actively cultivate strong relationships with Gilpin’s citizens by attending meetings of civic leagues, taking part in programs at schools, and contributing in various other ways to similar groups in the city. The main focal area for this position will be the Gilpin Community. The ideal candidate will have pre-established relationships in the Gilpin and surrounding community and familiarity with relevant programs serving the area.
Essential duties will be to provide support to the CBCR Program, including but not limited to monitoring sub grantees, assisting with reporting, data-entry, and maintaining program databases. The coordinator will also prepare quarterly, annual, and categorical reports, review and process contractor invoices, and coordinate all purchases and travel for the program under the supervision of the Programs Director.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates must demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills. Candidates should have demonstrated computer proficiency with word processing (Microsoft products preferred). Criminal background check will be completed on successful candidate.
PREFEERD QUALIFICATONS: It is preferred that applicants possess a related undergraduate degree or commensurate experience.
SALARY: Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.
