The Office of the Attorney General is seeking a qualified Receptionist to join the Operations team of the Administrative Division. Duties:   This position functions as the initial point of telephone contact for both external and. internal clients and provides quality constituent care and customer service in direct support of the Office of the Attorney General mission, goals and objectives. This position provides assistance to the general public and staff and assists in the completion of assignments, projects, and duties that aid in the day-to-day functioning of the Operations Section. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: answer in-bound lines; direct calls, take and distribute messages to the appropriate parties in a professional manner; provide timely support services as the initial contact for making and confirming conference room and general fleet vehicle reservations; assist with the Operations "help" ticketing system and the DGS Building Facilities Management help ticket notifications; handle process of service notifications and back-up other administrative support functions and other ad hoc duties as assigned. This position will work out of the Richmond, Virginia Office.


Minimum Qualifications:   The ideal candidate for this position will possess working knowledge of basic office practices and procedures, working skills in the operation of various types of telephone equipment and systems, excellent verbal communication skills, tact, judgment, ability to work under pressure or with demanding or difficult individuals. Candidates should possess a valid Virginia driver's license and have the ability to lift up to 50 pounds. The successful candidate will possess the ability to use proper grammar, spelling, and punctuation, basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and skills related to database management, working skills in the use of a computer, exceptional interpersonal and customer service skills, ability to maintain a welcoming, professional and pleasant disposition, ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion, ability to complete work assignments in a timely manner and within established guidelines, policies and procedures. High School diploma or GED required. Specific experience related to office operations would be ideal, as well as two to three years of experience in an office environment in a receptionist capacity is also required for this position.
