HEALTH CARE FRAUD AND ELDER ABUSE SECTION

 

DUTIES:  Conduct complex patient harm, corporate neglect, and fraud investigations involving health care providers participating in the Virginia Medicaid program. Analyze patient records, review billing and reimbursement data, interview witnesses and targets of investigations, participate in search warrants, and coordinate investigations with outside state and federal investigative agencies.  This position is located in the Richmond, Virginia office.  Some overnight travel is required.

 

Qualifications:  Applicants must have graduated from an accredited nursing school. Applicants must possess a current unrestricted license to practice as a registered nurse or licensed practical nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia and must be in good standing with the Virginia Board of Nursing.  Candidates must have a minimum of three years nursing experience with current experience in direct patient care, acute critical care in a hospital setting, and extensive experience evaluating patients with multiple disease processes across the lifespan.  Candidates should have demonstrated computer proficiency with word processing database management systems (Microsoft products preferred).  NOTE:  This is not a regulatory oversight position and candidates will be expected to report the results of investigations to prosecutorial entities and judicial bodies.  A criminal background check will be completed on the successful candidate.
