MEDICAID FRAUD CONTROL UNIT
DUTIES: The major responsibility of the Community Outreach Coordinator is to utilize his/her public relations skills to promote awareness, working directly with members of the community to educate people and explain the importance of the Medicaid Fraud Control Unit in protecting the health and welfare of the residents of the Commonwealth. This objective is accomplished primarily by seeking and taking advantage of opportunities to speak to civic organizations, including senior groups, departments of social services, law enforcement, hospitals, training academies and others. Successful candidate will also participate at conferences and exhibit at community events that attract large numbers of citizens. The main focal target area for this position will be the eastern portion of Virginia including Tidewater. This position will also serve as back-up as needed for other outreach coordinators assigned to Central and Western portions of Virginia.
QUALIFICATIONS. Applicants must have a related undergraduate degree or commensurate experience. Candidates must demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills. Candidates should have demonstrated computer proficiency with word processing (Microsoft products preferred). Criminal background check will be completed on successful candidates.
